Terms of use
BoardVault (https://boardvault.ragoxcell.com) is a technical community for electronics repair: a forum, a library of schematics, boardviews, BIOS images, datasheets and service manuals, and the tools around them. It is operated by BoardVault ("we"). By creating an account or using the site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, do not use the site.
1. Accounts
- Accounts are personal. Keep your password and second factor to yourself; you are responsible for what happens under your account.
- Give a real email address. We use it for verification, security notices and messages about your content.
- While registration is closed, accounts are created by invitation.
- You can delete your account at any time from your profile settings. What happens to your content is explained in the privacy policy.
2. Your content
You keep every right you hold over what you upload or post. To run the service you give us a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free licence to store, copy, scan, process (malware scanning, text extraction, thumbnails), display and distribute that content within the visibility you choose:
- Private — only you (and moderators, when needed to enforce these terms).
- Shared — you and the members you name.
- Public — anyone, including visitors without an account.
Publishing a document requires your declaration that you have the right to share it. Do not make public anything you are not entitled to distribute. The licence ends when the content is deleted, except for copies already downloaded by others and for backups until they rotate out.
Search engines and AI. Public pages — threads, replies, posts, comments, repair cases, profiles and document pages — can be read, indexed and cited by search engines and AI services, which may also use them to train their models. We ask them to link to the page and credit its author, and we refuse crawlers that ignore limits. Files themselves are only downloadable with an account. If you do not want something to be read that way, keep it private or shared.
3. What is not allowed
- Malware, or files designed to harm the people who open them.
- Material that infringes someone else's copyright or other rights. See the copyright policy.
- Other people's personal data, illegal content, harassment, hate speech or sexual content.
- Spam, advertising disguised as help, or automated scraping beyond the published limits.
- Attempts to get around limits, quotas, access controls or bans.
4. Moderation
Moderators and administrators may edit metadata, remove documents, lock threads, and suspend or ban accounts that break these terms. Every such action is recorded in a tamper-evident audit log. Owners are told by email when a document is removed and why. Accounts that repeatedly upload infringing material are closed.
5. Limits
Downloads, uploads and storage are limited per account and per visitor so the service stays available to everyone. The current limits are shown where they apply.
6. No warranty — repair at your own risk
Documents are shared by the community as they are. We do not check that a schematic is correct, complete, or matches your board revision. Electronics repair involves mains voltage, batteries and heat: you act on any information found here at your own risk.
To the extent the law allows, the service is provided without warranties of any kind, and we are not liable for indirect or consequential damages, data loss, or damage to equipment arising from its use.
7. Changes
We may change these terms. The date below shows the last change; significant changes are announced on the site before they apply.
