Copyright policy

BoardVault hosts documents that its members upload. We respect intellectual property and respond to notices of infringement in line with the notice-and-takedown procedure of the U.S. Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

1. Sending a notice

Use the copyright notice form, or write to boardvault@ragoxcell.com. A notice must include:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature (on the form, your full name typed as a signature).
  2. Identification of the copyrighted work you say is infringed.
  3. Identification of the material on BoardVault, with the address of each document page (for example https://boardvault.ragoxcell.com/library/…), so we can find it.
  4. Your name, postal address, telephone number and email address.
  5. A statement that you have a good-faith belief that the use is not authorised by the copyright owner, its agent or the law.
  6. A statement that the information in the notice is accurate and, under penalty of perjury, that you are the owner or authorised to act on the owner's behalf.

Notices that miss these elements may not be acted on. Knowingly misrepresenting that material is infringing can make you liable for damages (17 U.S.C. § 512(f)).

2. What we do

When a complete notice is accepted we:

  • disable access to the document, and to any identical copy of the same file in the library;
  • block that exact file so it cannot be uploaded again while the notice stands;
  • tell the uploader by email, with the notice reference and how to send a counter-notice.

3. Counter-notice

If you believe your document was removed by mistake or misidentification, send a counter-notice to boardvault@ragoxcell.com containing:

  1. Your physical or electronic signature.
  2. Identification of the material that was removed and the address where it appeared.
  3. A statement, under penalty of perjury, that you have a good-faith belief that the material was removed as a result of mistake or misidentification.
  4. Your name, address and telephone number, and a statement that you consent to the jurisdiction of the U.S. federal district court for your address (or, if you are outside the United States, any judicial district in which we may be found), and that you will accept service of process from the person who sent the original notice.

We forward a valid counter-notice to the person who sent the notice. Unless they tell us within 10 business days that they have filed a court action, we may restore the material 10 to 14 business days after receiving the counter-notice.

4. Repeat infringers

Accounts that repeatedly upload infringing material are closed.
